Underwater is where I feel most alive; among the fish, the seaweed, and even the seals, in the great expanse of the ocean. I freedive for seaweed, to be immersed in the underwater, marine environment, so I can collect some of this incredible richness to offer.

What's key for me is not taking too much. That would upset the delicate balance that is the environment. I take what I need and no more, inspecting each piece I cut as well as the surrounding habitat, to see what might be affected by my harvesting. It's not about taking as much as I can to sell as much as I can. That's where we've gone so wrong before now.
